YoniFlex Saftey, Contraindications, and Certifications.
YoniFlex is safe for most women to use at home. It works by delivering a low level electrical current to the pelvic floor muscles, and for the majority of people that feels like a mild tightening and nothing more.
There are some situations where it is not appropriate, and a few where it could cause harm. The list below is not a formality. Please read through it before your first session, and if anything on it applies to you, or you are not certain whether it does, talk with your doctor or a pelvic floor physiotherapist before you start.
Do not use YoniFlex if you:
- Are pregnant, or think you might be
- Have a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or any other implanted cardiac device
- Have known or suspected cancer in the pelvic area, or are currently being treated for it
- Have vaginal bleeding that has not been looked at by a doctor
- Have an active urinary tract or vaginal infection
- Are less than six weeks after giving birth, or have not yet had your postpartum check
- Have had pelvic or abdominal surgery recently and have not been cleared by your surgeon
- Are under 18
Talk to your doctor or pelvic floor physiotherapist first if you:
- Have epilepsy or any seizure disorder
- Have a heart rhythm problem or another serious heart condition
- Have metal implants in your pelvis or lower spine
- Have an IUD in place
- Have a prolapse that makes insertion uncomfortable or difficult
- Have diabetes or any condition that has reduced feeling in the area

Tested, cleared, and body-safe
YoniFlex is a regulated medical device rather than a wellness gadget. It holds FDA 510(k) clearance in the United States and carries the CE mark in Europe, which means it has been tested against the safety, electrical, and performance standards that apply to medical devices rather than to consumer electronics.
The parts that touch your body are held to the same standard. The contacts on your probe are surgical-grade stainless steel, the same alloy used in surgical instruments. It is non-porous, so bacteria cannot soak into it, and it cleans easily for repeated use. The probe body is medical-grade plastic, free from BPA, phthalates, and harsh chemicals. No mystery additives, no toxic dyes, nothing we would not put on our own bodies.
